Keeping you in the loop

There has been a minor delay in getting the books delivered that I want to keep you appraised of.
After the previous update, I caught a printing error in one of the books. I had two sample copies of that title, and the error occurred in only one of them. I had to alert the printer to the situation so they could address it. I'm told that it was an error in binding the books that did not occur in the entire run, and that they had caught the ones that were processed in error. (I will be doing a quality check of my own when the books arrive to ensure that this is the case.) Unfortunately, that process added extra time to the delivery date.
Secondly, my standard operating procedure with this printer was to mail a paper check at two stages during the procedure — a downpayment upfront and a final payment before shipping. I mailed my final payment at the same time that the new Postmaster General made changes at the Post Office that resulted in slower delivery times. This literally added weeks, since the printer needed to have the money deposited before they could initiate the shipment.
Currently, the books are scheduled to arrive in New York harbor at the end of the month, and I should be receiving the shipment in the first weeks of October.
I apologize for these unforeseen circumstances, but aside from the brief setback, I'm prepared to turn these books around quickly in October. As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to get in touch!

I've gotten my sample copies of the new books and everything looks great! I've given the printer the go-ahead to ship, and I should be able to start shipping in a few weeks!

Could you use a little good news? How's this...
The proofs have arrived, and they look great!
I've given the galley proofs a couple read-throughs to catch any incidental issues, and I'm happy to announce that I've given the press the green light to print!
Thanks for being a part of this exciting process! We're in the home stretch!

More good news to share! The files for both Stick ’Em Up: EiAD Vol. 2 and NSFW: The Erotic Art of Brad Guigar have been sent to the printer!
Here's what happens next:
- The printer will generate proofs so I can confirm print quality
- The printer will (inevitably) find something that needs to be addressed
- Once we've addressed the first two points, I'll issue a green light to the printer
- They will print the entire run, and send me samples
- Then they will ship the entirety of the order to my studio in Philadelphia
- Once I receive them, I will begin to fulfill shipments, Artists Editions, Commissions, etc.
As always, if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.
And finally, I'd LOVE to know what you thought of the phone-friendly version of the EiAD eBook. That was something I did on a whim, and if it's something you liked, I want to know about it for future digital books!

We made it past the "smoke test," so this morning, I'm sending out the rest of the surveys!
As I mentioned in an earlier update, Backerkit's "smoke test" sends surveys out to a representative sample of 5% of the entire group of backers. That's so we can catch any mistakes I may have made during the set-up period.
That means you will be getting surveys from Backerkit today. Fill them out. If you added money for an Add-on, it will be credited to your account, and you can make your selections now. And even if you didn't, you can still select Add-ons and pay for them now.
Once the orders are placed, I will "lock them in" on this side. That means you won't be able to change your order. I usually give it 24 hours before locking orders down. After that, you'll get the first wave of rewards — including any digital rewards you've got coming to you!
As I mentioned earlier, I'm throwing something extra into the digital rewards — a second version of Evil Inc After Dark Vol 2 formatted especially for smartphones! In the video above, I've imported it into the Apple Books app on my iPhone. It's completely experimental at this stage — I'm unaware of anyone in webcomics who is trying to pull this off. So I'd be thrilled to hear your thoughts on it.
